Japan / Akasawa Forestry Railroads (July 2008)

Akazawa forestry railroads is a preserved railway section located in the Akazawa Shizen Kyuyourin Park, which lies along the former forestry railway rout disused in 1966. The train is operated everyday from spring to autumn and visitors to this Park can enjoy riding on the open coach.
A morning train is passing turough the thick forest.

A small steam loco built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1915 is displayed outside the engine shed on fine days.
A train with passengers arrives the station. Just after its arrival, the diesel loco prapares to pull the next train by moving to the other side of the coaches.
The coaches have no windows so that the passengers can enjoy scenes along the river with fresh air in the forest.
